Greetings from the Governor

富山県知事 新田 八朗

Hachiro Nitta
Governor of Toyama Prefecture

I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations on the opening of the 10th Anniversary Toyama International Contemporary Art Exhibition, “2026 ART/X/TOYAMA.”

Since its inception in 1993, this contemporary art exhibition originating in Toyama has attracted many ambitious works not only from within the prefecture but also from around the world, including Asia and Europe, and continues to inspire and deeply move its viewers.

Promoting culture and the arts is a vital initiative that serves as a driving force for exchange among people across regions and generations, while enriching individual’s personal time and contributing to improved physical and mental health, peace of mind, and overall well-being. Furthermore, this exhibition offers an excellent opportunity to broaden international cultural exchange.

I hope that all visitors will be engaged by these soul-enriching works, feel a deep sense of emotion, and gain renewed strength for tomorrow.

In closing, I would like to express my deepest respect to the organizing committee and all those involved who have dedicated their efforts to the realization of this exhibition, and I sincerely wish for its great success.
